Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Science or related field is required
  • 3+ years of experience in a QA/QC position in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Skill in organization, analysis, time management, prioritization, and the ability to meet deadlines for multiple tasks
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality of support and service
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact with all levels of management
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food and beverage manufacturing is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Supplier Management Program by conducting supplier evaluations, monitoring supplier quality performance, coordinating timely failure investigations, and preparing supplier performance reports.
  • Maintain and oversee the Approved Supplier Procedure, related SOPs, forms, and records to ensure they are current and audit compliant.
  • Support and maintain raw material certification programs, including GFSI, Organic, Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, and other customer-specific requirements.
  • Review and assess supplier documentation to verify compliance with food safety, regulatory, and certification standards.
  • Monitor supplier documentation, track certificate expiry dates, and ensure timely renewals.
  • Conduct and review supplier and ingredient risk assessments.
  • Support design transfer to manufacturing by coordinating quality control activities from production through to final product shipment.
  • Participate in risk management activities, including verification of risk mitigation measures within products and processes.
  • Provide guidance in interpreting internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governmental standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain required Quality Assurance electronic logs and records.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety, occupational safety, environmental, food safety, legal, and company policies.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Integrated Management System, including Production, Quality, Food Safety, and GMP requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
