About The Position

As a member of the Project Management Team, the Quality Specialist is responsible for reporting to management all issues related to the project's quality performance on a regular basis. Quality performance includes quality program implementation, adherence to procedures and policy, nonconformances, rework, customer concerns or complaints, and corrective actions. The role involves leading and managing the quality effort, including quality assurance and control activities and personnel. The Quality Specialist also acts as a liaison to customers, vendors, and subcontractors regarding quality matters.

Requirements

  • At least four years’ engineering or science degree or technical college degree plus two years’ experience in related construction field
  • Must be legally authorized to work without requiring sponsorship for employment to begin or continue employment with our company
  • Must be able to clearly communicate the status of quality on a project.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills, ability to research and work with detailed/technical matters and convey/explain the information to field personnel
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and SharePoint software programs as well as able to quickly learn other software applications
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks with deadlines and potentially frequent interruptions
  • Regular, reliable attendance

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain effective communications and relations (verbally and in writing) with district management, project management teams and engineers/clients as required.
  • Examine and inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered; take corrective action as needed.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and take all necessary corrective actions to eliminate or minimize them.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Kiewit/TIC Quality Management System and procedures and promote standardization.
  • Manage Welding Procedure Specification log and files for assigned districts.
  • Assist in conducting project quality audits and reports.
