This is a full-time, non-exempt level position. The Quality Specialist will be responsible for completing tasks assigned to Quality Technicians and covering for them as needed, especially when no other Quality Technician can be found. The role also involves covering for the Quality Manager during their absence, including tasks such as Formal Release, verification, log updating, and ensuring proper sampling. The Specialist will assist the Quality Manager in developing personnel and courier schedules, identifying and initiating actions for food safety or product integrity issues, and conducting annual food safety training. They will also train new Quality Technicians, help create reference materials, manage lab supply inventory, catalog foreign material evidence, manage the Plant Retain Sample Program, review batch paperwork, and manage the Quality Hold Program. Additionally, the Specialist will participate in the Plant Internal Audit Team, support the Quality Manager with sampling matrices, specifications, and sight samples, assist with customer complaint and root cause investigations, and update/create documentation for the Quality Management System. Support for Lab Technicians, including 3rd party lab testing, sample requests, and proficiency testing, is also part of the role.
