About The Position

The Quality & Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality, reliability, and workplace safety across Wesley International’s manufacturing and field operations. This role combines quality engineering, regulatory compliance, and hands-on field support to drive continuous improvement and a zero-defect, zero-incident culture. In addition to internal quality systems, this role serves as a critical link between customers, warranty teams, and service providers in diagnosing field issues, supporting corrective actions, and ensuring timely and effective resolution of product performance concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Safety, or related field
  • 3–7+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or EHS
  • Strong knowledge of SPC, CAPA, root cause analysis, and ISO 9001
  • Familiarity with OSHA and product safety standards
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

  • Experience with electrical/mechanical systems diagnostics (preferred for EIVs)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze ERP and test data to identify trends, variation, and early-stage process drift
  • Monitor and improve process capability using statistical tools, including Process Capability Index (Cpk)
  • Provide data-driven insights to prevent defects and improve overall product reliability
  • Design and standardize electrical and mechanical testing protocols for production teams
  • Ensure all validation processes are accurate, repeatable, and aligned with engineering requirements
  • Drive improvements that increase First Pass Yield and reduce rework
  • Manage calibration systems for all measurement and testing equipment
  • Ensure tools meet precision standards and calibration schedules are maintained
  • Prevent quality escapes through equipment accuracy and traceability
  • Establish and enforce technical quality standards for incoming materials
  • Conduct supplier audits and drive corrective actions with vendors
  • Monitor supplier performance and reduce incoming defect rates
  • Lead deep-dive investigations into product failures, warranty claims, and internal nonconformances
  • Utilize structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) to determine root cause
  • Implement and track CAPA to ensure long-term resolution and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with inventory and operations teams on CAPA tickets tied to warranty issues
  • Partner with the warranty team to gather detailed customer feedback and failure data
  • Diagnose field issues using product specifications, schematics, and parts documentation
  • Identify root causes and provide accurate replacement part numbers to support timely repairs
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic evaluations on returned units to determine repair requirements
  • Program and configure chargers and controllers for replacement units sent to customers
  • Coordinate with service providers performing warranty repairs to ensure technical accuracy and consistency
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders, including inventory management, regarding parts usage and CAPA implications
  • Conduct occasional on-site visits to local customers to perform diagnostics, repairs, and technical support
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards
  • Identify process gaps and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain audit readiness and support external audits
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and company safety policies
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analysis
  • Support development and enforcement of safety procedures
  • Ensure all EV products meet applicable safety standards, including American National Standards Institute and Underwriters Laboratories
  • Collaborate with engineering to integrate safety into product design and validation
  • Maintain compliance documentation and audit readiness
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents and near-misses
  • Implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training and engagement
  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warranty, and Service teams
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) with quality and safety validation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across both factory and field operations
