Requirements

  • Associate degree in public administration, business administration, Psychology, Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services (including a clinical practicum of at least one year), or a related field from an accredited college or university; AND One (1) year of experience with a DHS (or comparable department)
  • OR High School or GED; AND Three (3) years of experience with a DHS (or comparable department) using PC based word processing, spreadsheets or data base applications
  • Must undergo a background check via the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI).
  • Must have a car, valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency and required auto liability insurance.
  • Knowledge of Public Assistance policy for Medicaid, Food Assistance and Ohio Works First; agency policies and procedures; interviewing.
  • Ability to deal with many variables and determine specific actions; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages; understand manuals and verbal instructions; gather collate & classify information about data, people or things; maintain accurate records; prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports; work alone on most tasks.
  • Skill In PC or mainframe data entry and work processing equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in public assistance eligibility to include SNAP, TANF and Medicaid

Responsibilities

  • Conducts in-house quality reviews of assigned cases; gathers data from a number of sources and evaluates accuracy of work products.
  • Writes summaries and required reports; answers correspondence and telephone inquiries.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions to receive information of techniques, policies and procedures used during performance of assigned duties.
