About The Position

LifeGift is seeking a Quality Performance Improvement Coordinator to support the organization's efforts to improve clinical and operating performance through diverse projects and high reliability initiatives. The coordinator will gain exposure to operations management in both organ and tissue departments and will work collaboratively with internal and/or external departments and locations, utilizing lean performance improvement methodology and project management. This role involves ensuring work is completed using lean philosophy and principles, supporting the planning, set-up, execution, and follow-up of PI events and projects, and assisting in writing reports, analyzing data, and creating data displays to support PI project decisions. The coordinator will collaborate with physicians, nurses, management, and client groups to develop methods for monitoring and reporting process improvement, assist in developing presentations and documents that articulate a compelling story through data, and analyze opportunities for improvement to recommend and implement solutions. Additionally, the role includes executing time studies, process observations, and other information-gathering activities, and providing leadership to tiger teams by evaluating, diagnosing, and recommending improvements in a collaborative manner through multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university and a strong academic record or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in healthcare QAPI field or other appropriate work experience for performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure work is completed using lean philosophy and principles.
  • Support the planning, set-up, execution, and follow-up of PI events and projects.
  • Assist in writing reports, analyzing data, creating and interpreting data displays to support decisions on PI projects.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, management, client groups, and others engaged in improvement initiatives to develop methods to monitor and report process improvement.
  • Assist with developing presentations and documents that articulate a compelling story line through the effective use of data.
  • Assist in the analysis and identification of opportunities for improvement with a goal to develop, recommend, and implement proposed solutions.
  • Execute time studies, process observations and other information gathering activities that support PI decision-making.
  • Provide leadership to tiger teams by evaluating, diagnosing, and recommending improvements in a collaborative manner via multiple short and long duration projects.
