About The Position

The Quality and Safety Project Manager supports Atlantic Health's approach to evidence-based care and clinical excellence by using the techniques of system design, reengineering, project management, patient safety, quality improvement, outcomes measurement, and statistical analysis to achieve national benchmarks and organizational goals. This includes project management, training, data management, and activities to support regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or clinical specialty (RRT, Pharmacy, Lab , PT) required
  • Experience leading and facilitating project teams.
  • CPHQ (must obtain within 2 years of hire)
  • Current NJ Registered Nurse Licensure preferred or other Clinical professional license or certification
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task various responsibilities
  • Experience in comparative clinical database analysis and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years’ experience in quality improvement or project management within a healthcare setting preferred
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates/assists with quality improvement projects for teams and/or departments as assigned.
  • Engages in activities to identify potential patient safety risks and initiatives to improve patient safety.
  • Provides in-service training in patient safety principles/practices, quality management, performance improvement techniques and organizational operating procedure standards.
  • Participates in Shared Governance Councils, Hospital Quality/Patient Safety meetings providing guidance and instruction in PI Techniques.
  • Collects, compiles, analyzes and reports quality data.
  • Monitors effectiveness and adherence with corrective action plans and reports findings to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety or designee.
  • Participates in activities to monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with quality and regulatory standards such Joint Commission, State Department of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, payers and other agencies.
  • Provides support during accreditation/regulatory surveys.
  • Supports/facilitates process improvement work within assigned areas of responsibility.
