Coordinates the development, implementation, review, and revision of disease specific standards, policies, procedures, and protocols. Co-chairs relevant disease specific committees related to quality improvement and regulatory adherence while driving process improvement and patient outcomes. Responsible for accessing the complete Electronic Health Record (EHR), along with all available EHR generated reports. Reviews patient histories involving past illnesses, treatment locations, and diagnoses to facilitate conducting quality assurance for the provision of documented patient care. Performs quality assurance practices related to the provision of patient care and patient outcomes according to established internal protocols based on evidence based best practice guidelines. Produces data reports related to specific patient populations for hospital clinical departments and for regulatory bodies in collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary care team.
