About The Position

Commonwealth Rolled Products is a leading manufacturer of Aluminum rolled products for the Automotive, Commercial, and Industrial markets. The Company operates its production facility in Lewisport, KY with the support of an Automotive Innovation Center for R&D and Field Service in Madison Heights (DET), MI. Our Company is seeking to add a Quality Operating Systems Specialist. The Quality Operating Systems Specialist is a highly capable and experienced quality systems professional responsible for supporting, stabilizing, and sustaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and related operating systems. This role serves as a critical operational backbone by ensuring continuity across key quality systems, providing cross-functional coverage for the QOS Engineer and Sr. Quality Systems / ESG Specialist, and independently owning internal audits from planning through closure. The position strengthens system continuity, data integrity, audit readiness, and effective cross-functional execution.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in quality systems, manufacturing, or a related operational environment.
  • Experience with audit management systems.
  • Proven experience managing internal audits from planning through closure.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO and IATF quality standards.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience working with ERP, reporting, document control, or training systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and systems-thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Power BI experience
  • EASE experience
  • Lead Auditor certification in IATF 16949
  • Lead Auditor certification in ISO 17025

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety programs, including taking personal ownership over daily actions that drive to a zero (0) incident culture.

  • Maintain and support the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
  • Support compliance with IATF, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Provide cross-functional coverage for document control, training systems, and audit readiness activities.
  • Provide cross-functional coverage for the QOS Engineer and Sr. Quality Systems / ESG Specialist to maintain continuity of critical quality system activities.
  • Ensure operational continuity for audits, reporting, system maintenance, and quality operating processes.
  • Support role continuity during absences, workload peaks, or periods of increased business demand.
  • Manage purchase requisitions for calibration, metrology, and quality systems needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors, laboratories, procurement, and finance to support timely execution.
  • Track requisition lifecycle through closure and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Support calibration compliance, equipment traceability, and related quality records.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate internal audits from planning through closure.
  • Define audit scope, prepare audit checklists, and execute audits.
  • Document audit findings clearly and accurately.
  • Track corrective actions through completion.
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and close audits.
  • Maintain audit data in EASE or applicable audit management systems.
  • Support customer, certification, and external audit activities as needed.
  • Maintain incident reporting and KPI systems.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of quality data.
  • Generate reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Develop ERP training materials, user guides, and work instructions.
  • Translate system workflows into clear, practical documentation for end users.
  • Maintain training content as systems, processes, or business requirements change.
  • Track corrective action requests and support timely closure.
  • Ensure corrective action documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Support owners with follow-up activities and closure requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality systems, data accuracy, and process efficiency.
  • Support standardization of QMS processes, documentation, and reporting practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen audit readiness and operational performance.
