Quality Manager
About The Position
The JSSI Parts & Engines (JPE) Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of JPE’s quality, including third-party certifications, operational quality, and customer quality. The position is based in JPE’s warehouse in Erlanger, Kentucky, outside CVG airport. The manager leads JPE’s certification and audit work, administers quality procedures and corrective actions, oversees customer returns and vendor quality, and ensures warehouse and drop-shipment processes meet applicable standards. The role also serves as the on-site quality expert for warehouse staff, providing training and coaching on inspections, defects, certifications, traceability, and part conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry, preferably in parts trading.
- Knowledge of aviation parts and certification requirements.
- ISO 9001 experience.
- Six Sigma Black Belt or similar certification.
- Project management experience.
- ASQ or other certification.
Responsibilities
- Lead JPE to third-party AS9120 certification and maintain its AS9120 and ASA-100 certifications by coordinating and leading on-site and virtual audits.
- Oversee the self-audit program, including scheduling audits and following up on findings.
- Maintain the corrective action process by issuing corrective actions, escalating lack of response, ensuring actions are effective, and conducting follow-up reviews.
- Maintain JPE procedures by scheduling periodic reviews, reviewing and approving quality procedures, tracking training and change management for new or updated procedures, and maintaining a procedure database.
- Manage the customer returns process.
- Review customer returns for trends and issue corrective actions as required.
- Ensure proper tracking of customer returns and issue customer credits when required after review.
- Monitor vendor quality performance for both inbound and landed customer quality, and conduct on-site vendor audits as required.
- Ensure adherence to standards across all JPE business units.
- Ensure operational quality of warehouse processes, including paperwork, visual inspection, and packaging; track problems and address them with corrective actions in coordination with the warehouse team.
- Serve as the on-site warehouse quality expert, training staff to recognize defects and answering questions about certifications, traceability, part conditions, visual inspections, and related matters.
- Coach the warehouse team in improving inspection processes.
- Oversee drop-shipment quality.
