About The Position

CRP Industries is seeking a Quality Manager for their NJ facility to support and manage quality processes. This new role is crucial for building out the company's Quality function and ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry requirements. The Quality Manager will be responsible for driving continual improvement efforts and ensuring compliance with QMS standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) through implementation and management of the Quality Management System. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a quality auditor or in a closely related role, preferably in a distribution environment, with experience working with vendors on quality issues. This position reports to the Corporate Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years experience as a quality auditor for ISO 9001 (preferred) and/or IATF 16949 or relevant work experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Import/Distribution industry experience required

Responsibilities

  • Define the structure, responsibilities, procedures, and processes for implementing and coordinating the Quality Management System (QMS) as needed to comply with QMS standards (Primarily ISO 9001, experience with IATF 16949 preferable).
  • Provide input into planning systematic activities to provide adequate confidence that the products will meet with the requirements of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 standard.
  • Provide techniques and perform activities focused on controlling processes and materials to fulfill requirements for quality.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and drive activity to improve supplier quality. Manage supplier return systems as necessary.
  • Utilize 8 step problem solving approaches (e.g., A3, 8D) to determine true root causes of quality issues and implement effective countermeasures that correct problems and prevent recurrence.
  • Develop a process analysis approach to support risk management. Utilize FMEA and control plans to provide process quality key points for work instructions.
  • Ensure that measuring devices utilized to control quality of products produce accurate and repeatable results by ensuring timely calibration and traceability as required by QMS standards.
  • Develop, support, and verify test and inspection activities align with QMS requirements.
  • Provide training or subject matter that supports production employee skills training and education in quality-related topics, may include training for suppliers.
  • Support the Quality team in managing the internal audit system per QMS standards (includes conducting internal audits), second party audits conducted on suppliers or other parties as applicable, and third party audits conducted by external registrars to ensure compliance with QMS standards and the effectiveness of the QMS as a whole.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance product quality such as training, process improvements, QMS improvements, etc. Prioritize these initiatives according to KPI conditions with outcomes focused on enhancing customer satisfaction, lowering costs, and improving process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor warranty return data and use appropriate problem-solving methods to determine root cause and implement effective countermeasures for warranty returns with a focus on enhancing customer satisfaction and improving overall warranty KPI metrics.
  • Work with CRP’s external parties as necessary to address quality concerns and enhance performance. Conduct communication with these parties according to CRP’s values, including respect, integrity and trust.
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality KPIs and reporting at relevant levels and positions to ensure awareness of quality performance throughout the organization.
