About The Position

The Quality Lab Technician helps ensure finished products meet quality and customer specifications before they are packaged and shipped. As part of a collaborative lab team, the technician rotates through testing stations and develops experience with a variety of laboratory equipment and testing methods. The position is based at Kerry’s Manitowoc, Wisconsin facility, which produces natural smoke ingredients.

Requirements

Experience working in a laboratory environment, including analytical testing and standard lab practices.
Comfort using laboratory equipment and interpreting test results.
Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry and documentation skills.
Ability to learn multiple testing methods and cross-train across lab stations.
Comfort using SAP or similar computer systems to record test results.
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

A degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field; relevant laboratory experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Food or manufacturing laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

Test finished products using analytical chemistry and food science methods.
Operate laboratory equipment and evaluate results against product specifications.
Make hold or release decisions based on test results before products move to packaging and shipment.
Accurately enter test results and quality data into SAP.
Rotate through testing stations and cross-train on laboratory equipment and methods.
Maintain accurate lab records and follow established testing and quality procedures.
Partner with the Quality team to ensure testing is completed accurately and on time.
