No matter what stage of your career, you can build your future at Tempur Sealy! The Inspector stands next to a rolling conveyor and in front of a waist-high table. The Inspector flips the finished mattress from the conveyor onto the inspection table to inspect for defects and attach an inspection tag and warranty information. The Inspector will repair any minor defects if necessary. Once the finished mattress is inspected and tagged, the Inspector slides the mattress into the automated bagging machine. For major defects, the Inspector will flip the mattress back on to the conveyor to be moved to a different area for repair. The Inspector is also responsible for re-loading the large rolls of plastic into the bagging machine when necessary. Visually inspects mattresses and box springs for defects. Uses an air hose to remove dust. Uses scissors to trim excess threads. If mattress or box spring does not conform to appropriate standards, sends back to rework area for repairs. If the inspection is being conducted at the end of the matt or box spring conveyor, the inspector may also operate the packing machine. This involves feeding the matt/box to the machine and replenishing rolls of plastic.

Requirements

  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for a minimum 8 hours or more per shift.
  • Frequent walking, squatting, turning, twisting, pushing, bending, etc. in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attendance—must be reliable and punctual.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Flip finished mattresses from the conveyor onto the inspection table.
  • Inspect mattresses and box springs for defects.
  • Attach inspection tags and warranty information.
  • Repair minor defects if necessary.
  • Slide inspected mattresses into the automated bagging machine.
  • Flip mattresses with major defects back onto the conveyor for repair.
  • Reload large rolls of plastic into the bagging machine.
  • Use an air hose to remove dust.
  • Use scissors to trim excess threads.
  • Operate the packing machine (feeding mattress/box, replenishing plastic rolls) if inspecting at the end of the conveyor.
