This position reports to: Quality (Supervisor) __ In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system, including conducting audits, establishing controls, training on tools and methodologies. Each day, you will support activities related to quality management within the organizational unit. You will also show your expertise by reporting quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and customer cases and maintaining process documentation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED is required
  • Prior manufacturing experience or quality control experience
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand various written instructions in English
  • Bend, twist & turn in a safe manner
  • Lift up to 40 Pounds
  • Stand for long periods
  • Good hand dexterity
  • Strong math skills
  • Working knowledge and experience in using measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, dept and height gage, thread gages, ring gages, plug gages, go-no-go gages, and any other essential measurement devices.
  • Working knowledge and experience in reading and analyzing blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and follows plant safety and procedures. Avoid or prevents hazardous conditions from developing. Wear appropriate protective equipment as required, dress and conducts self in a safe manner. Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S. Participates in plant safety objectives.
  • Perform 1st Article inspection of in-house products and supplier manufactured products.
  • Reporting quality issues data, ensuring adherence to quality management system at all stages.
  • Acquiring and reporting quality metrics and KPIs accurately and in a timely manner to facilitate the analysis and management of local processes.
  • Utilizing measurement systems to produce data that reflects the accurate characteristics of materials, products, systems, and processes.
  • Training local operational teams on relevant elements of quality management, supporting implementation, and promoting opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform patrols and visual inspections on finished, in-process rubber/epoxy molded products during all phases of manufacturing.
  • Assure control of nonconforming product/material to established procedures.
  • Reviews and documents RMA's as needed.
  • Performs dimensional inspection for product acceptance as required (first piece, recalls etc).
