Requirements

  • High School diploma, equivalent or trade school graduate and/or minimum experience.
  • 2 years of experience within a Quality related environment.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills with our internal and external customers.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment.
  • Basic ability to read prints and use measuring equipment along with basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, measure, test, and record data to determine if product meets customer’s specifications.
  • Responsible for all incoming, start-up, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product meets specifications including required documentation.
  • Work with production personnel to resolve quality discrepancies and ensure acceptable product.
  • Utilizes engineering drawings, gauges, comparator, vision system, microscopes, templates, and other inspection equipment/aids to ensure all product meets the customer specifications.
  • Ensures that all required process operations have been performed on the product.
  • Records all quality data and notes into the appropriate electronic or manual systems.
  • Notifies the appropriate personnel if product defects and/or process problems are identified or if product rejects exceed acceptable levels.
  • Provides timely feedback to manufacturing if non-conforming product is identified.
  • Sorting and/or reworking product that does not conform to the customer requirements. Properly documents and labels to identify the status of non-conforming product. Sampling and gaging of reject product may also be required.
  • Follow specifications and procedures for manufacturing, i.e., process sheets, work orders and any other special instructions.
  • Proper handling of all material, parts, and equipment to prevent damage and loss of finished product.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
  • Properly utilize evacuation system to minimize exposure to hazards.
  • Provide accurate and complete turnover from shift to shift.
