About The Position

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Quality Inspector for its 3rd shift operations. This role is crucial for monitoring and measuring products on the manufacturing floor, ensuring they meet Challenge Manufacturing Quality Standards. The inspector will perform periodic quality checks, record data in the Plex ERP system, and contribute to general utility work to support production requirements. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • 6 months quality experience.
  • Has high standards of performance for self.

Nice To Haves

  • One year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours per day including Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and measure products on the manufacturing floor.
  • Escalate nonconforming product issues according to Challenge Manufacturing Quality Standards.
  • Perform periodic quality checks.
  • Record information in Plex (enterprise resource data planning system - ERP).
  • Perform general utility work to meet work schedule.
  • Inspect and gage raw or welded parts according to operator checklist to ensure parts are within customer specifications.
  • Verify first piece inspection and approval has been completed according to Challenge Manufacturing’s first-piece approval process.
  • Support the company’s quality process when internal and external quality failures result in product being contained.
  • Follow Company’s containment process to ensure defects are not shipped to Challenge Manufacturing customers (internal/external).
  • Ensure parts are packed according to packaging instructions to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform daily Layered Process Audits (LPA) to ensure the Company’s quality process are being followed.
  • Monitor quality alerts to ensure they are being followed and that they are valid.
  • Ensure nonconforming processes are adhered to.
  • Ensure and maintain safety and cleanliness of work area by performing housekeeping duties.
  • Perform and cross train on various work centers as required.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and other documentation.
  • Meet daily production requirements.
