About The Position

The Quality Inspector/Auditor performs a variety of operational functions related to the production, inspection, and distribution of products. This role adheres to safety policies, the Quality Policy, ISO policies, and employee handbook work rules. The position requires maintaining good housekeeping, displaying appropriate work ethics, and following procedural instructions before commencing work. A key aspect is performing quality assurance checks designated for each job and ensuring all assigned work is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions, and requirements. The role also involves demonstrating the ability to meet production standards within a reasonable timeframe.

Requirements

  • Education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 3-5 plant-wide audit rounds per shift (Pressing to Paint), verifying job/order requirements, first article completion, and checking 2-3 random parts per operation; document findings and escalate issues.
  • Conduct 100% final inspection for assigned lines and support HP/Specialty as needed; verify drawings/specs/regulatory compliance; record defects and manage holds/re-inspection.
  • Maintain calibration tracker, schedule recalibration, ensure no overdue gages, label gage status, and archive certificates to gage IDs.
  • Maintain audit-ready filing of inspection/audit/calibration/training records; ensure current revisions are used and obsolete documents are removed.
  • Issue daily/shift summary of findings and verify corrective actions are implemented and effective.
  • Maintain clean, organized lab areas and controlled records; follow document control requirements and ensure all results are filed in the correct location and format.
  • Participate and contribute on corrective actions.
  • Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
