About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, measurements, and tests on molded products to ensure they meet quality standards. This role involves accurately recording data, identifying and reporting discrepancies, and collaborating with the production team to resolve issues. The inspector will also maintain quality documentation, support production schedules, and assist in training new employees. The position requires a commitment to safety and maintaining an organized workspace.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in quality inspection or plastics manufacturing.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with JDE or similar ERP software.
  • Certificate or formal recognition in an industrial trade, such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt, or completion of company-specific Quality Assurance training programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, work orders, and related documentation to complete production records and follow work instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools and materials applicable to the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, measurements, and tests on molded products at defined intervals.
  • Accurately record data in the SPC system.
  • Initiate Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs) for discrepancies.
  • Communicate product and documentation discrepancies to the production team.
  • Collaborate with the production team to resolve issues and reinforce quality standards.
  • Review daily production schedules and prepare molding control books.
  • Maintain the organization, accuracy, and integrity of all quality documentation, product samples, and testing equipment.
  • Ensure held products are properly tagged, tracked, and dispositioned.
  • Monitor process and documentation changes through ECRs and ISO documentation systems.
  • Report concerns to the Quality Manager.
  • Maintain accurate production records and quality inspection reports.
  • Inspect parts and components for defects and compliance to quality standards.
  • Promptly report quality issues to the appropriate team members.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new employees on equipment operation and standard work procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
