About The Position

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our Plating Inspection team. As a Quality Inspector, you'll play a critical role in performing inspections on components to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality expectations. Requirements

  • Basic understanding of blueprint reading and inspection techniques.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to details and deadlines
  • Strong reading comprehension, math, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Visual acuity of 20/20 (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform repetitive, routine inspection tasks while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to professionally communicate with both verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to complete training in: Measurement and inspection equipment, Technical math, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), as applicable
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift required
  • Ability to work weekly rotating daylight, afternoon, and midnight shifts required

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough inspections and audits of materials and manufactured products.
  • Work closely with manufacturing technicians to achieve acceptable product, meet or exceed customer quality standards, goals and deliveries.
  • May set up and verify inspection equipment such as XRF, SmartScope, and other inspection machinery.
  • Prepare fixtures and inspection programs as needed.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment including micrometers, digital height gages, indicators, comparators, and other inspection tools.
  • Identify and report nonconforming products, placing them on hold.
  • Create, maintain, and file inspection records and quality documentation.
  • May audit production inspection logs and Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, verifying with product samples.
  • Assist with First Article Inspections, Gage R&R studies, and Capability Studies.
  • Support training of manufacturing personnel on inspection procedures and equipment.
  • Perform testing and other duties that may involve working with chemicals.
