Quality Inspector 1- 3rd Shift

About The Position

The Inspector 1 performs basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of products manufactured or assembled in-house, determines whether products meet specifications, and documents inspection decisions. The Roving Inspector 1 also inspects operators performing a variety of processes on the operations floor. The role involves inspecting assembled, semi-finished, and finished products against inspection procedures, drawings, and print specifications; reviewing product documentation for compliance with specifications and QSR requirements; and supporting product qualification and validation processes. The inspector also supports department and organizational objectives, promotes quality standards, trains other inspectors, and performs other quality functions as required. The work is predominantly documentation comparison and review.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of work experience in a related field and/or inspecting products according to inspection procedures, drawings, and print specifications using attribute and variable measuring equipment or gauges.
Understanding of good manufacturing practices.
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and blueprint interpretation.
Ability to detect nonconformities during repetitive inspections and make product judgments against applicable specifications.
Ability to operate automated inspection equipment, such as vision systems and digital comparators.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good documentation skills and the ability to maintain neat, accurate records.
Ability to work in a manufacturing and/or clean room environment.
Good communication skills and ability to clearly relay inspection results.

Responsibilities

Inspect assembled, semi-finished, and finished products according to inspection procedures, drawings, and print specifications.
Use attribute and variable measuring equipment, gauges, and mating parts to determine product conditions.
Support qualification and validation processes for company products.
Review product documentation for acceptability against specifications and QSR requirements.
Support department and organizational objectives and promote quality standards.
Inspect operators performing a variety of processes on the operations floor.
Train other inspectors on required tasks.
Perform other quality functions as required.
Document inspection decisions and maintain neat, accurate records.
