About The Position

The Quality Inspector I job requires you to perform routine inspection and/or testing in three of the following Departments/Areas: Coating, Tufting, Logos, Graphics Tufting or Lab. This job involves visually checking raw materials, products at different stages of production, and finished products. You'll also make simple measurements and ensure all records are accurate. Each Department/Area requires effective communication with production personnel, department Supervisors, and Quality Team. Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
Basic Math skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
High School Diploma/GED Required
Ability to read and interpret production orders and specifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
Basic measurement skills using measuring tapes, rulers, and other tools
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspection and/or testing in three of the following Departments/Areas: Coating, Tufting, Logos, Graphics Tufting or Lab.
Visually check raw materials, products at different stages of production, and finished products.
Make simple measurements and ensure all records are accurate.
Coating: Inspect turf during coating process (face and back) for defects. Measure roll width, pile height, tuft binds, and record data accordingly. Place quality holds on defective rolls. Prepare samples for lab testing and 3rd party testing.
Tufting: Perform routine inspections, creel verifications; communicate and record any findings. Verify correct raw materials (backing, fiber, fiber color). Perform “weight checks” for all new orders and confirm product specifications. Assist with Graphics Tufting quality checks.
Graphics Tufting: Perform routine inspections, communicate and record any findings. Verify correct raw materials (fiber type and color). Perform “weight checks” for all new frames and confirm product specifications. Measure and record dimensions of finished product.
Logos: Measure logo dimensions and check for defects. Assist with Graphics Tufting quality checks. Record logo inspection data.
Lab: Conduct routine finished product tests (Instron, drainage). Prepare test samples using die press cutter. Test incoming materials (infill, fiber, backing) when necessary.
