Quality Inspector I performs detailed receiving, kitting, or shipping inspection of products for compliance to the technical data package using appropriate gaging, tooling, or methods. Requirements

  • This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma/GED
  • One (1) year Quality experience, minimum of one (1) year working with standards, policies, and regulatory requirements (Government and/or Commercial)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
  • Moderate computer skills to use Microsoft and various computer systems.
  • Usage of basic hand gaging.
  • Understanding of AS9100 Environments
  • Familiarity working to DoD standards such as MIL-STD-130.
  • Understanding of AS9102 First Article Inspection standard

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Costpoint or other ERP/MRP systems used to receive parts.
  • Understanding of Aviation Condition Tags in accordance with DA PAM 738-751 preferred.
  • Understanding of IPC-WHMA-620 (wire harness inspection), MIL-STD-454 preferred.
  • Understanding of IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001 (for possible PCB inspections a plus) preferred.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/ASME Y 14.5 (GD & T) Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ability to assess general condition, count, and conformity to standard for Mil Standard hardware, hazmat, and assembly kits.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, statement of work and standards to determine quality status.
  • Ability to pull the correct applicable drawings or specifications based on the work package provided.
  • Use of calibrated measuring instruments to confirm dimensional compliance. Ensure all measuring equipment used is working per its specific requirement
  • Proficient in the use of inspections hand gauges like Calipers, Micrometers, Go/No-Go, rules, tape measures and pin gauges.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Exhibit the ability to learn and take on new task
  • Be able to determine acceptance, rejection of materials presented for inspection and performing non-conformance reporting thoroughly and with accuracy.
  • Should have effective written and verbal communication skills with the Engineering and Program support to resolve problems.
  • Perform AS9102 First Article Inspections as required.
  • Good organizational skills and utilize Microsoft Office software to accurately document and maintain associated paperwork and inspection results in a consistent and timely fashion.
  • Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities for the quality program for customers internal and external.
  • Other duties as directed by the assigned Quality Supervisors
