We are seeking a Quality /Food Safety Supervisor to join our dynamic team and lead efforts in ensuring that all products meet our stringent quality standards. The Quality / Food Safety Supervisor will support the quality control technician(s), implement quality systems, and collaborate with production teams to maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the production process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other relevant quality standards.
  • Experience with microbiological, chemical, and physical testing methods preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with quality control software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, temperature-controlled areas, and potential allergens.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Quality Tech Experience, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., HACCP, SQF, ISO) are a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all products meet the required specifications and standards at each stage of production, from raw materials to finished goods.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with internal and external quality standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, SQF, GMP).
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and collaborate with production and operations teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee regular product sampling, testing, and inspection to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct and review physical, chemical, and microbiological tests as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality control inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports on quality metrics for management review.
  • Provide ongoing training for quality control staff on quality procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous learning within the team.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and assist with external audits from regulatory bodies and certification organizations.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation and compliance procedures are in place.
  • Investigate and identify the root causes of quality issues, ensuring that corrective actions are taken and that the same issues do not recur in future production runs.
  • Help lead food safety and sanitation, ensuring proper execution and compliance with food safety regulations.
