The QUALITY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN will assist Quality Engineers in developing and maintaining quality engineering methodologies and providing quality technical support within new product introduction and manufacturing. Work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • General knowledge of Statistical Techniques and Analysis.
  • General knowledge of problem-solving techniques and Quality tools.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others.
  • Show initiative in work by being a self-starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.

Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Engineering to identify customer quality requirements and develop inspection plans and methods to support their achievement.
  • Support Quality Engineering in measurement system analysis, statistical sampling, statistical process control, and machine capability analysis.
  • Support Quality Engineering in the development, execution, and statistical analysis of machine and process validations.
  • Support Quality Engineering in the management of internal and external quality issues for assigned customers.
  • Support product teams to define problems, perform root cause analysis, choose and implement solutions, and test their effectiveness.
  • Support Quality Engineering in the development and maintenance of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Support Quality Engineering with actions stemming from the Material Review Board in regard to containment and disposition activities for nonconforming product.
