About The Position

Under general direction, monitors, tests, and inspects products to ensure they meet specified standards, are free of flaws, and function as designed. This role involves supervising technicians and applying creativity and latitude in monitoring, testing, and inspecting products. The position may require working in laboratory settings, using various tools for quality inspections, and participating in the development of testing and inspection activities throughout product development and manufacturing stages. The supervisor will define and conduct tests, perform internal audits, participate in root cause analysis, and review/create work instructions and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering processes and regulatory requirements in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to proactively identify and solve problems.
  • Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes, or services.
  • Ability to explain a range of complex technical information.
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and database management tools.
  • Knowledge on aerospace standard such as AS9100, AS9102 or ISO9001 as a minimum.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of technicians
  • Monitors, tests, and inspects products to ensure they meet specified standards, are free of flaws, and function as designed.
  • May work in laboratory settings running tests and duplicating real-world conditions, using tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, volt meters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and electronic inspection equipment to aid in quality inspections and assessments.
  • Participates in development of testing and inspection activities associated with product development and all stages of manufacturing.
  • Defines and conducts both systematic/methodical and random/arbitrary tests to ensure proper performance of Axillon products.
  • Performs internal audits of processes using inspection results and statistical techniques to provide timely, accurate product analysis.
  • Participates in root cause analysis initiatives for process-related concerns.
  • Analyzes audit results and determines proper corrective and preventative action.
  • Reviews and creates work instructions, inspection forms, records, techniques, and procedures for accuracy and relevance and provide changes when necessary.
