About The Position

The quality engineering manager is a crucial role responsible for ensuring that the products, materials, and services supplied by external vendors meet an organization's specific quality standards and requirements. You will play a vital role in maintaining the overall quality of products, improving supplier performance, and fostering strong supplier relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality, preferably in HVAC, modular construction, or manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select, and qualify suppliers based on quality systems, capabilities, and performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Maintain Approved Supplier List (ASL) with up-to-date quality and performance metrics
  • Develop and implement inspection criteria for incoming HVAC components, sheet metal, electrical parts, piping, and assemblies.
  • Investigate non-conforming materials and work with suppliers on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Ensure traceability and documentation of all incoming materials and components.
  • Partner with engineering to review supplier drawings, specifications, and tolerances for manufacturability and quality.
  • Lead root cause analysis for supplier-related quality issues and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Drive supplier process improvements to reduce defects, improve delivery, and lower costs.
  • Ensure supplier products meet all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records of quality reports, audits, and supplier performance reviews.
  • Serving as a technical liaison between the company and supplier to ensure requirements are understood and met.
  • Developing and implementing supplier quality management plans, including setting expectations, requirements, and performance targets.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and provide guidance for improving their quality systems and processes.
