Quality Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)
About The Position
Join RTX’s Civil Space department in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, as a Quality Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The role offers hands-on experience contributing to the development and maintenance of high-quality engineering processes and products while collaborating with quality and manufacturing professionals. The position is onsite and is considered safety sensitive under NASA guidelines; the candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per NASA regulations. U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program or contract. No security clearance is required.
Requirements
- Be actively enrolled in a Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering degree program or a related field for the duration of the internship.
- Have experience with inspection tooling and quality assurance processes.
- Have knowledge of root cause analysis techniques.
- Have experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Responsibilities
- Support defect reduction initiatives through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers on manufacturing and inspection activities.
- Implement process improvements using continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
- Apply engineering principles to support quality assurance activities.
