About The Position

Emerson co-ops are given meaningful work, support, and mentorship from experienced managers and key business leaders. There is the potential to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of ways by exploring opportunities associated with your major and rotating through multiple departments. This role involves collaborating with other engineers, teams, and departments to develop and implement solutions to safety, quality, and production challenges. The co-op will also document current and future state workflow and potential process improvements, lead and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects, attend department, team, and project meetings as necessary, and complete projects as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week during the scheduled semester.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with a hands-on approach to problem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • College status of a junior or senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
  • Six months generalized work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • General Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
