About The Position

This co-op provides an undergraduate student with hands-on experience in quality engineering in a real-world setting. Co-ops receive meaningful work, support, and mentorship from experienced managers and business leaders, and may explore opportunities related to their major and rotate through multiple departments. The role collaborates with engineers and other teams to address safety, quality, and production challenges; documents workflows and possible process improvements; and contributes to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects. The co-op attends relevant meetings and completes projects assigned by the Quality Manager. The scheduled-semester commitment is 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the scheduled semester.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not provided.
• Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Safety conscious.
• Self-motivated and disciplined, with a hands-on approach to problem solving.

Nice To Haves

• Junior or senior college standing, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
• Six months of generalized work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• General knowledge of lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, teams, and departments to develop and implement solutions to safety, quality, and production challenges.
• Document current and future state workflows and identify potential process improvements.
• Lead and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
• Attend department, team, and project meetings as necessary.
• Complete projects assigned by the Quality Manager.
• Develop technical and professional skills through meaningful work, mentorship, and potential opportunities across departments.
