About The Position

Snap Inc is a technology company focused on improving how people live and communicate through the camera. The Ad Client team is responsible for designing, developing, and scaling the next generation of video and display advertising experiences, owning the end-to-end mobile advertising experience from fetching and storing ads to rendering and measurement. We are looking for a Quality Engineer to evolve our approach from feature-by-feature testing to owning end-to-end user experiences. This role focuses on high-risk cross-team experiences, release readiness, and non-functional qualities such as accessibility, compatibility, privacy, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with object-oriented programming in Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, or similar.
  • Experience with client and/or mobile test automation frameworks (e.g., XCTest/XCUITest, Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Espresso).
  • Highly experienced in defining/building/maintaining test coverage for client/mobile applications for a variety of smartphones/tablets.
  • Deep understanding of quality-related agile methodologies and experience applying them throughout the SDLC.
  • Hands-on experience using AI in an engineering workflow.
  • Proficient with standard QE and engineering tooling: Test suite/case management tools (e.g., TestRail), version control (e.g., GitHub), issue tracking (e.g., Jira) and debugging tools (e.g., Chrome Dev Tools, Charles Proxy, Postman).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience demonstrating analytical thinking, reporting, leadership, customer focus and collaboration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent years of practical work experience.
  • 3+ years of post-Bachelor’s experience in software testing and/or software development, or Master’s degree + 2+ years of experience, or PhD.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a distributed product-team environment.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with continuous integration/delivery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own quality for end-to-end Ad Client experiences that cross multiple teams, prioritizing the highest-risk user journeys.
  • Independently define and drive the test strategy for new, unreleased features and premium experiences.
  • Define, build and maintain high-signal automation for critical paths and end-to-end flows.
  • Enable feature developers to own their feature-level coverage.
  • Diagnose, debug and perform root cause analysis for defects, document findings, and collaborate cross-functionally to triage and resolve bugs.
  • Use AI to accelerate development and drive efficiency.
  • Own release readiness and quality sign-off for your feature domain.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
  • Review code and test pull requests across platforms.
  • Partner with adjacent and dependency teams to map cross-team dependencies and surface quality risk.

Benefits

  • Paid parental leave
  • Comprehensive medical coverage
  • Emotional and mental health support programs
  • Compensation packages including RSUs
