About The Position

The Quality Engineer coordinates quality functions for an assigned production line within Woodbridge’s Moulded Foam business unit. The role leads Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) teams from the drawing-board stage through the start of production for new programs, conducts dimensional analyses on foam pads, coordinates in-house sampling responsibilities, and serves as a customer service representative for assigned customers. The position may also serve as the management representative for QS-9000 and performs other duties as assigned. Travel to customer and supplier locations may be frequent and unscheduled.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of experience, or equivalent; automotive-environment experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of automotive quality requirements.
• Ability to interpret automotive industry blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Knowledge of statistical methods and applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal, and written communication.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
• Knowledge of problem-solving tools such as SPC, 8-D, DOE, and VA/VE.
• Ability to travel to customer and supplier locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all quality functions related to the assigned production line.
• Lead AQP teams from drawing board through start of production on new programs.
• Conduct dimensional analyses on foam pads.
• Coordinate in-house sampling responsibilities, including FMEA, control plans, and product submissions.
• Act as service representative to assigned customers.
• Supply Auto Pareto information on a daily basis.
• May serve as management representative for QS-9000.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Travel to customer and supplier locations as required; travel may be frequent and unscheduled.
