About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring an Experienced or Senior Quality Engineer to join its team in Berkeley, Missouri. The role works under consultative direction and supports quality planning, supplier quality, product and process validation, quality surveillance, design reviews, manufacturing and test readiness, benchmarking, and continuous quality improvement across large programs and derivatives. The position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Candidates must meet U.S. export control requirements as a U.S. Person. The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance is required after starting. Boeing will not sponsor employment visas. Relocation may be offered based on candidate eligibility. The role is not contingent upon a program award and is not safety sensitive.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science; the posting also states Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience in low observable processes.
• Experience developing methods for testing and approving products, processes, equipment, and measurement systems to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
• At least 3 years of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis, and presenting data.
• At least 3 years of experience using AS9100 or a similar Quality Management System standard.
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance is required post-start. U.S. citizenship is required for the clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience reviewing, measuring, and testing aircraft coatings.
• Experience developing processes from acceptance test to materials.
• Experience with electromagnetic component and platform testing.
• Level 4 qualification: more than 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise others in preparing significant bids and proposals.
• Author Quality plans for major programs.
• Advise suppliers and business partners on developing Quality plans to ensure requirements are flowed down.
• Consult at the business-unit level to develop Quality criteria for supplier selection.
• Oversee development of methods, procedures, and metrics that ensure quality standards and practices for large programs and derivatives.
• Lead verification reviews to ensure adequate surveillance validates product and process Quality requirements.
• Develop new methods for conducting product and process validation.
• Represent Quality in design reviews addressing interrelationships among multiple systems.
• Advise on methods for testing and approving products, processes, equipment, and measurement systems to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
• Benchmark enterprise best practices and lead cross-functional continuous Quality improvement efforts.
• Develop new applications for advanced statistical methods.
