About The Position

Unison, a GE Aerospace company, is the leading provider of differentiated engine controls, accessories, and performance monitoring solutions in the Aerospace, Defense & Space segments. Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world. The Quality Engineer (QE) ensures products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. The QE drives prevention of defects, leads nonconformance resolution, executes root-cause and corrective actions, and partners cross-functionally to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in ownership of quality assurance and control for assigned supply chain, customer and products/process areas).
  • A minimum of 3 years of ownership of quality assurance and control for assigned supply chain, customer and products/process areas.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status.

  • Experience in supplier quality management, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop/review control plans, inspection plans, and quality requirements.
  • Support APQP/PPAP-like deliverables as applicable.
  • Lead containment, documentation, and disposition support for nonconforming material.
  • Ensure traceability and timely closure of nonconformances.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone, data analysis).
  • Implement/verify CAPA to prevent recurrence.
  • Support manufacturing/operations with process capability, error-proofing, and standard work adherence.
  • Assess risk and drive improvements.
  • Ensure compliance to AS9100/ISO9001 (as applicable), internal procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Support internal/customer/regulatory audits and close findings.
  • Lead or support improvement projects to reduce variation, improve yield, and strengthen process controls.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Programs to manage changes, resolve issues, and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Manage the quality cage/hold area by ensuring proper segregation, identification/labeling, inventory accuracy, access control, and timely disposition of nonconforming material.
