Requirements

  • Must have excellent problem solving and math skills, including 8D methodology, advanced SPC and DOE.
  • Must have good computer skills, including use of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must have the ability to read automotive blueprints and engineering specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SPC, DOE, inspection and testing; project management.
  • GD&T and metrology background.
  • Education or past job duties requiring problem solving, computer applications and following technical instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison for Spring Hill issues including plant visits to assist on resolution and disputes.
  • Maintain relationships and resolve quality issues at customer ship-to locations.
  • RI Process for incoming supplier items.
  • Audit quality of incoming material as required in receiving and manufacturing areas.
  • Investigate supplier issues reported by production at multiple location. Isolate any non-conforming parts so they can be sorted and/or returned depending on inventory.
  • Perform Dimensional Inspection and monitor dimensional results for trends and loss of capability and investigate as needed.
  • Work with Nascote Engineering to implement ECNs on assigned current production programs.
  • Assists Quality Engineers and Program Engineers with troubleshooting part improvements for fit, function, and appearance.
  • Communicate/Network with all processes/departments to relay pertinent production and pre-production information.
  • Assist in creating boundary standards for the plant.
  • Assist Engineer in creating GP12 checklists as well as assisting with GP12 inspection.
  • Ensures the MESH is acting in the safest manner possible - Conducts monthly safety audits.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record and works overtime as required.
  • Assists in the trouble shooting for manufacturing problems.
  • Participates in improvement teams, concern resolution reports (8D) and other formal problem solving and improvement activities. Takes a leadership role in many cases.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
