About The Position

The PACCAR Engine Company has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer. This role involves working closely with Machining and Assembly department personnel to provide engineering support and timely responses to problems. The Quality Engineer will identify root causes for manufacturing process issues and collaborate with relevant departments and suppliers to implement permanent corrective actions. Responsibilities include developing and improving inspection methods to reduce measurement variation, completing and analyzing data for trends, and facilitating improvement actions. The role also involves creating and maintaining quality reporting metrics, maintaining a problem-solving database, and participating in or leading process improvement efforts such as 5S, scrap reduction, DPU reduction, and Kaizen events. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will assist with developing and conducting quality training programs and record maintenance, utilizing effective communication and problem-solving skills to foster an environment of continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Four year degree required.
  • Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated team player that works well in a fast pace environment.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills.
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written skills.
  • Three to five years manufacturing/quality experience.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing/machining principles.
  • General knowledge of metrology/inspection principles.
  • Familiar with GD&T, SPC, CMM, part layout and measurement.
  • Knowledge and application of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities
