About The Position

PACCAR is establishing a Remanufacturing Facility to remanufacture PACCAR engines after over 1 million miles of service life. This facility will refurbish engine components to new levels and assemble remanufactured engines for application in trucks for another 1 million+ miles. The Manufacturing Engineer Remanufacturing is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, improvement, and support of new and existing processes within their area of focus.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar) or other bachelor’s degree (Industrial Technology or similar) with applicable manufacturing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive Remanufacturing Manufacturing Experience.
  • Practical application of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma tools.
  • Black Belt Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Develops new and improved remanufacturing manufacturing processes and provides required assembly/machining process definition and documentation.
  • Achieves stability in all engine-related processes by establishing process FMEAs, developing and implementing process control plans, and optimizing individual workstations to maximize output.
  • Specifies, procures, and approves necessary tools and equipment required to sustain a flexible remanufacturing process.
  • Develops and maintains new equipment project books, equipment FMEA standards, and engineering operational standards for use across departments.
  • Supports running business in daily start-ups, continuous improvement, and total productive maintenance teams.
  • Manages facility equipment numbering, documentation, and IT system integration.
  • Conducts time and work sequence studies and implements required process modifications to manufacturing operations to improve quality and meet higher market demands.
  • Provides direction within working groups to set priorities, project plans, and due dates. Monitors activities within the team and coordinates implementations and final reporting to area management.
  • Maintains plant's torque control tool spare parts management, tooling repair and replacement, and DC tool program back-ups.
  • Maintains PLC programs and modifies as needed to support operations.
  • Develops procedures and plant arrangements to ensure proper material handling and storage.
  • Maintains control documents per ISO requirements.
  • Participates in commissioning and new product launch activities.
  • Facilitates effective communication to plant management on project status.
