About The Position

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing the implementation and execution of program quality requirements throughout the proposal and program lifecycle. This role requires an understanding of quality tasks across various functions including hardware, software, systems, suppliers/sub-contractors, and customers. The position involves collaboration with multiple departments such as Program Management, Proposal Management, Contracts, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production, and Customers. The role supports proposals for Guided, Missile, Launcher, and Advanced Programs, assists in establishing quality budgets and cost commitments, and participates in independent reviews like Readiness Acceptance Check (RAC), customer proposal/BOE reviews, customer negotiations, DCAA audits, Program Reviews, and Executive Leadership Proposals Reviews. The candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, meet proposal deadlines, and support all proposal activities effectively. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, self-directed professional who thrives in fast-paced proposal environments and delivers precise, data-driven quality solutions, impacting high-visibility missile and launcher programs.

Requirements

  • Technical Engineering (STEM – Engineering / Science) degree at the Bachelor level or above.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance prior to start.
  • Understanding of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Engineering.
  • Proficient in writing Proposal and Basis of Estimate (BOEs).
  • Strong knowledge of creating an accurate, complete, correct, current and competitive Proposals / Basis of Estimate (BOE).
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, Contracts and other engineering requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex.
  • An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience in disposition of non-conforming products.
  • Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management.
  • Experience in establishing Performance metrics for identifying process improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Engineering or Quality experience developing methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products.
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager and knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of audit.
  • Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge in Industry recognized Quality systems such as International (ISO) Aerospace (AS), and FAA Regulations.
  • Experience working with Government Customers.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to details, ability to work in a dynamic environment and the ability to multi-task.
  • Effective communication skills including written, oral, listening, presentation, technical writing, collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Support all programs proposals for Guided, Missile, Launcher and Advanced Programs.
  • Assist in establishing quality budgets and cost commitments.
  • Participate in independent reviews including Readiness Acceptance Check (RAC), customer proposal / BOE reviews, customer negotiations, Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits, Programs Reviews and Executive Leadership Proposals Reviews.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

  • Effectively communicate and interface with other functions.
