About The Position

This role is for a Quality Engineer within the Flexible Pipe Systems (FPS) Quality team. The team ensures high quality, consistency, and reliability for all products throughout the complete life-cycle of flexible pipe systems manufacturing. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing a defect-free culture, enhancing process and product reliability, and improving customer experience. This role involves collaborating with various functions to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and increase First Time Yield (FTY). The engineer will support on-site quality needs and audit requests, lead continuous improvement activities, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for top issues, and present findings to customers and senior leaders.

Requirements

  • BSc. in STEM or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Good experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in QMS and audit process.
  • Deep understanding of compliance requirements, including ISO9001:2015.
  • Very good communication and presentation skills for all levels of audience.
  • Experience in evidence-based management methods.
  • Knowledge in statistical analysis and process control methods.
  • Working knowledge of Windows software, including Mini Tab, MS Project, and advanced Excel spreadsheets.

  • Ability to implement Quality programs/systems and achieve measurable goals.
  • Experience conducting townhall briefings and leadership report-outs.

Responsibilities

  • Leading by example to exemplify Baker Hughes core values (care, lead, collaborate, and grow) and uphold safety, integrity, and quality.
  • Working with key stakeholders to implement proactive issue prevention and risk mitigation actions.
  • Engaging stakeholders to review and analyze product and process nonconformities, conducting NCA/RCA investigations, and ensuring timely closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Conducting continuous improvement training to strengthen problem-solving tools usage and defect prevention actions.
  • Providing input in FMEAs and the Industrialization process to enhance process capability and execution readiness.
  • Performing internal audits, including workstation audits, in accordance with the audit program.
  • Assisting in the analysis, reporting, monitoring, and training related to audit items.
