This role supports the Quality Manager in addressing current production issues and matters. The Quality Engineer will also support MOS (Management Operating System) and conduct/facilitate problem-solving activities, including customer plant visits, 8-D reports, supplier concern coordination, and SPC analysis. The position involves interfacing with plant, engineering, customer, and supplier personnel to ensure the smooth introduction of new parts into production. The Quality Engineer will be a member of the plant's AQP (Advanced Quality Planning) Core Team, responsible for planning quality for new products. They will handle and track sample submissions, write and update control plans, FMEA's, inspection check sheets, and reports. Additionally, they will coordinate prototype documentation, tagging, and shipment, and are authorized to initiate actions to prevent non-conformities related to product, processes, and the quality system. The role includes coordinating quality activities during the APQP/Launch Process and conducting new employee Quality orientation. The Quality Engineer will direct and work with Layout Technicians, Quality Auditors, and Quality Technicians.
