About The Position

The Engineer II position will perform quality assurance tasks in our Tactical Solutions business unit, supporting overall individual component to system level manufacturing, integration and test, for all phases, systems, programs and/or products in the production facility. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

Requirements

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in and contribute to a cross-functional team environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn aerospace and defense industry and government specifications and standards and the requirements contained therein that guide the design, build, and test of hardware.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn Quality Engineering (QE) principles, tools, methods, and standards.
  • Must be willing to take initiative, be able to complete tasks in a timely manner, and have good time management and organizational skills.
  • Applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Nice To Haves

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team during all phases of the program lifecycle, supporting execution activities under guidance.
  • Report quality metrics, ensuring that programs meet all quality performance requirements utilizing tools like APQP/AS9145.
  • Participate in resolving routine quality issues, documenting findings and contributing to the reduction of reoccurring issues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely and effective Corrective Action / Preventive Action.
  • Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities, like implementing and maintaining control charts and assisting programs with database creation and tool set up.
  • Review First Article Inspections (FAI) and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
  • Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
