About The Position

The Quality Engineer 2 is to monitor, review, and improve the performance of the existing Quality Management Systems and assist in the introduction of pro-active systems, using appropriate Quality tools and techniques that will ensure compliance per the customer specifications and prevent quality failures. The Quality Engineer 2 is to support Customer interface activities, providing appropriate levels of Quality inputs to ensure a clear understanding of Customer requirements is available to all areas of the business. The Quality Engineer 2 is responsible for final buyoff and submission of tooling to the Customer.

Requirements

  • Minimum eight (8) years of related experience required
  • SME and delegate for specific customer buyoffs
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T
  • Advocating as the "voice of the customer" demanding the highest quality expectations from the organization
  • Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Executing the duties of the position such that the focus is largely proactive versus reactive
  • Have working knowledge of GD&T, CMM’s, and Laser Trackers
  • Understanding of CNC machines and shop repair techniques, welding, bushings, assembly
  • Ability to use manual inspection equipment i.e. Micrometers, Calipers, Bore Gages, etc.
  • Previous experience within the aerospace industry
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience within the aerospace/defense tooling industry
  • Experience in supplier quality assurance
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations
  • Review customer requirements, adhering to customer/industry specifications and inspect-ability of product
  • Support Non-Conformance process and prepare quality records and reports
  • Supplier/customer quality interface and present product for buyoff to Customer
  • Support Customer and Third-Party audit visits and arising actions and responses
  • Support build teams, program managers, etc. with GD&T interpretation, customer ID requirements, storage configuration to ensure requirements regarding quality of product are being met
  • Physical review of tooling, tool tag stamping, torque striping/bugging, proof load witnessing, bag testing, thickness testing etc.
  • Review special process certifications for compliance to customer requirements
  • Support first article activities and assessment of completed packs for approval
  • Perform/document final inspection activities
  • Support Quality Policy Deployment activities
  • Support Engineering activities and customer meetings
  • Utilize and update information to customer QA web accounts
  • Ensure that working practices in relation to Health, Safety and Housekeeping are adhered to
  • Support training activities
  • Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management
