About The Position

Galvion is seeking a motivated Quality Engineer I to join our Quality team within the Armor business unit. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working cross-functionally, and driving improvements in product and process quality. As a Quality Engineer I, you will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and supplier partners to ensure products and manufacturing processes meet established quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Internship, co-op, project, or manufacturing experience; quality experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement control plans for supplied components and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate FAI and LAT testing with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Support supplied-part approvals and new product stage-gate requirements.
  • Manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) from initiation through closure.
  • Lead and support root-cause analysis, CAPA, and 8D problem-solving activities.
  • Participate in ISO 9001 supplier quality audits and maintain supplier performance scorecards.
  • Analyze quality data using capability studies, control charts, and Gauge R&R.
  • Support containment and disposition of nonconforming materials through MRB and RMA processes.
  • Drive timely audit and CAPA closure while improving customer PPM and first-pass yield.
