About The Position

The Quality Engineer Co‑op role is a temporary, experiential learning position designed to provide students with hands‑on, practical work experience related to their field of study. Co‑op participants contribute to meaningful projects and day‑to‑day business activities while developing professional skills, technical knowledge, and an understanding of real‑world organizational operations. The Co‑op position supports assigned teams, projects, and operational activities within the quality department. Responsibilities are tailored to the student’s academic background, skills, and learning objectives. Co‑ops are expected to apply classroom knowledge to practical assignments, follow established procedures, and collaborate effectively with team members. This role operates under close supervision and may rotate through different tasks or projects depending on departmental needs and the duration of the assignment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, HR, Marketing, Manufacturing, or related discipline)
  • Eligibility for cooperative education participation through academic institution
  • Strong interest in gaining practical work experience
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions
  • Basic analytical, technical, or administrative skills appropriate to field of study
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist with quality inspections, audits, and process evaluations.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality performance data.
  • Support investigations of defects, nonconformances, and customer complaints.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Assist in teardown of customer motor returns
  • Maintain quality documentation, records, and procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations on quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product and process quality.
  • Help ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply academic knowledge to real‑world business or technical challenges
  • Develop professional skills such as communication, time management, and teamwork
  • Learn organizational systems, tools, and processes relevant to the role
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data as assigned
  • Prepare basic reports, presentations, or documentation
  • Maintain accurate records and follow documentation standards
  • Work closely with supervisors, mentors, and team members
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and reviews
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and results clearly and professionally
