About The Position

Quality Assurance Engineer We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Brampton, ON team! Our Quality Engineer, Shot Peening & Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) NDT is responsible for ensuring compliance, process control, and continuous improvement of special processes related to shot peening and non-destructive testing (NDT). This role supports aerospace manufacturing operations by maintaining NADCAP compliance, implementing the company’s quality management system, and acting as the technical authority for special process quality in the absence of the Quality Manager. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
  • 1-3 years of quality engineering experience in aerospace manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of NADCAP, AS9100, and OEM aerospace standards
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
  • Experience with corrective action systems and root cause analysis

Nice To Haves

  • NADCAP audit experience (Shot Peening and/or NDT)
  • NDT Level II or III certification (PT and MT)
  • Shot peening technical training or certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
  • Experience with aerospace OEMs (GE, Pratt & Whitney, Safran, Boeing, Airbus, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develops, applies and revises quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
  • Reviews and evaluates in-process rejections, obtains disposition and implements corrective action as needed.
  • May interface with customers, vendors and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.
  • Participates in audits.
  • Ensure compliance with AMS 2430 / AMS 2432, NAS 410 / EN 4179, OEM specifications, and internal procedures customer NDT requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and audit shot peening process documentation (routers, work instructions, control plans)
  • Review and approve shot peening parameters, intensity verification, coverage methods, and equipment qualification
  • Support machine qualification, media control, nozzle wear monitoring, and Almen system management
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to shot peening nonconformances
  • Ensure calibration, verification, and control of NDT equipment and consumables
  • Review NDT inspection records, discrepancies, and acceptance criteria
  • Prepare for and support NADCAP, customer, and regulatory audits
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions (8D, RCCA, PFMEA)
  • Monitor KPIs related to process capability, defects, and audit findings
