Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control within the construction, infrastructure, transit, or industrial sectors.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects for a General Contractor in Canada.
  • Previous experience supporting construction activities in active rail corridors or on heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience on Metrolinx projects is highly regarded and preferred; familiarity with Metrolinx quality requirements, standards, and compliance processes is considered a significant asset.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, CSA standards, and other applicable quality frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of construction codes, inspection techniques, materials, methods, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, and technical documentation.
  • Experience conducting quality inspections, audits, non-conformance investigations, and corrective action tracking.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to construction projects.
  • Must possess a valid provincial driver's license.

  • Experience on Metrolinx projects is highly regarded and preferred; familiarity with Metrolinx quality requirements, standards, and compliance processes is considered a significant asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
  • Conduct field inspections, audits, and quality reviews to verify adherence to contract requirements and identify potential quality issues.
  • Track, document, and manage non-conformances, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented and monitored for effectiveness.
  • Maintain and organize quality documentation, including inspection reports, test records, compliance documentation, and turnover packages.
  • Prepare and submit quality reports for project leadership, clients, and regulatory agencies, while monitoring quality performance indicators and trends.
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure materials, workmanship, and construction activities meet project requirements.
  • Review vendor and subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Participate in quality review meetings and support the development and implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the standardization of quality documentation, inspection methodologies, and reporting processes across the project.
  • Provide guidance and training to project teams on quality procedures, inspection requirements, documentation standards, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection and support compliance with the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP).
