About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance with food safety regulations. The Quality Control team member will conduct inspections, monitor processes, and maintain accurate data. This position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a willingness to learn company software and red meat processing methods. The role involves physical activity in a demanding environment.

Requirements

  • Minimal computer skills and/or willingness to learn company software.
  • Ability to move, open, and inspect plant-produced products.
  • Ability to stand on concrete surfaces for up to four (4) continuous hours with a minimum of 8 hours per shift.
  • Physically able to navigate to all areas of the processing facility and follow all safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform strenuous work in a damp environment with a wide range of temperatures.
  • Dependable and prompt with strong integrity and work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to learn the methods and practices used in red meat processing.
  • Ability to work varying days (including weekends) when processing schedules change.
  • Ability to communicate properly with all levels of management and USDA.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Quality Control or a related field.
  • Familiarity with USDA regulations.
  • Experience in the red meat processing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Food Safety Quality Assurance policies and USDA regulations.
  • Model and coach Food Safety Quality Assurance expectations to facility team members.
  • Complete inspections to verify product meets internal and customer specifications and take appropriate actions when non-compliance is observed.
  • Accurately conduct product reviews to meet product grading, packaging, and weight compliance procedures.
  • Monitor team members' work practices and address any deficiencies by informing the team member of the nonconformance and reporting the issue to their supervisor.
  • Monitor product processing areas and practices to mitigate any potential for foreign material contamination.
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness and proper working condition prior to starting up or during the process and record findings.
  • Collect, track, and implement numerical data.
  • Communicate properly with all levels of management and USDA.
  • Learn company software to complete job assignments.
