About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet internal and customer specifications, adhering to Food Safety Quality Assurance policies and USDA regulations. The Quality Control professional will monitor team members' work practices, inspect equipment, and mitigate potential contamination risks. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to maintaining a positive work atmosphere. The role involves data collection and analysis, clear communication with management and USDA officials, and the willingness to learn company software.

Requirements

  • Must have minimal computers skill and/or be willing to learn company software to complete their job assignments.
  • Must be able to move, open, and inspect plant-produced products
  • Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for up to four (4) continuous hours with a minimum of 8 hours per shift.
  • Must be physically able to navigate to all areas of the processing facility and follow all safety procedures.
  • Must be able to perform strenuous work in a damp environment with a wide range of temperatures.
  • Must be dependable and prompt with strong integrity and work ethic.
  • Must be able to work independently and exhibit GOP values.
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow instructions and to learn the methods and practices used in red meat processing processing
  • Must be able to work varying days (including weekends) when processing schedules change
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so their work is done efficiently and cooperatively with coworkers and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Food Safety Quality Assurance policies and USDA regulations, modeling and coaching these expectations to facility team members.
  • Complete inspections to verify product compliance with internal and customer specifications and take appropriate actions when non-compliance is observed.
  • Accurately conduct product reviews to ensure compliance with product grading, packaging, and weight procedures.
  • Monitor team members' work practices, address deficiencies by informing team members of non-conformance, and report issues to supervisors.
  • Monitor product processing areas and practices to mitigate potential for foreign material contamination.
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness and proper working condition before startup or during the process and record findings legibly.
  • Collect, track, and implement numerical data.
  • Communicate properly with all levels of management and USDA.
