Requirements

  • Be a recent graduate with a bachelor’s level degree in Chemistry / Diploma in Chemical Technology.
  • Experience in sample analysis, procedure writing and problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills.
  • Be able to legally work in Canada.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to get multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines done within a workday.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude and the desire to be in a hands-on role.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving, decision making and time management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills that include the use of MS Office Suite of products.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and perform quality control procedures, testing, and reagent procedures.
  • Maintain support for Sales Representatives and all laboratory activities.
  • Support in product set-up, including SDS and labels.
  • Perform and document quality control procedures on raw materials and finished goods.
  • Schedule and perform calibration and maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor water quality in boiler and RO system.
  • Update SDS to ensure SDS compliance of raw materials and reagent raw materials.
  • Performs training of Water Treatment sample analysis (glycol, water, scale, and corrosion coupons) to applicable laboratory staff.
  • Completion of product set-up documentation in compliance with Guardian requirements (including SDS, labels).
  • Provide support for compliance (PMRA and CFIA).
  • Support QEHS through internal auditing.
