About The Position

This role is responsible for performing line inspections and analyses on finished and intermediate products, including packing and labeling. The Quality Control position involves establishing sampling plans and applying applicable accept/reject levels to inspection and test results. This role requires cross-functional knowledge in Food Safety to operate in any area of the plant. The position demands continuous standing, walking, bending, and lifting for 10-12 hours per day.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Quality, Environmental and Safety standards.
  • Able to operate machines or equipment at a basic level.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (multiplication, division, add, subtract, understand decimal/fractions, and percent).
  • Ability to read, interpret documents, write legibly, and clearly communicate to management.
  • Able to work in a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to stand continually during the work shift (10-12 hours long).
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, twist, walk, lift, stand on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrate good manual dexterity.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Willing to work with others in a team environment.
  • Able to take direction from more than one supervisor.

Nice To Haves

  • Cross functional in Food Safety.
  • Certification in Food Safety preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing line inspections and analyses on finished and intermediate products, packing, and labeling.
  • Establishing sampling plans and applying applicable accept/reject levels to inspection and test results.
  • Documenting results from all inspections and tests.
  • Communicating all results and findings to Management.
  • Following safety, sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices while performing tests.
  • Calibrating line equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Reading and applying inspection instructions, forms, and specifications.
