About The Position

Shea Concrete is hiring a Quality Control (QC) Technician for its year-round production plants in Amesbury and Wilmington, Massachusetts. In a fast-paced precast concrete manufacturing environment, the QC Technician is responsible for product testing and assists with quality control processes, procedures, and protocols associated with production before and after concrete pours. QC experience is required, and precast experience is preferred. With assistance from Shea Concrete, the technician must be willing to obtain an ACI certification. The stated pay range is $28–$34 per hour, based on experience and certifications.

Requirements

• QC experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age, as required by federal guidelines.
• Have good verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff.
• Be able to remain focused in a busy environment.
• Have computer and tablet skills to perform job tasks.
• Be able to read blueprints and sketches.
• Be willing to obtain an ACI certification with assistance from Shea Concrete.
• Be committed to safety, maintain a safe work area, and follow safe work practices outlined in the Safety Program.
• Be committed to quality and follow and implement quality control measures.
• Have excellent attendance and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Be able to learn, organize, prioritize work, and handle multiple tasks.
• Demonstrate an outstanding attitude, honesty, and work ethic.
• Use sound judgment, diplomacy, and discretion.
• Be able to work independently or cooperatively with others and show self-drive in carrying out job functions.
• Be able to stand, bend, stretch, reach, kneel, crawl, and remain on their feet for extended periods during the work shift.
• Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Be able to work at heights up to 10 feet.
• Wear proper PPE at all times in a production plant environment.

Nice To Haves

• Precast experience.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Grade 1 certification.
• NPCA PQS training.

Responsibilities

• Perform ACI concrete field tests.
• Conduct quality control inspections in the manufacturing plant.
• Inspect forms before pouring (pre-pour).
• Inspect products after they are removed from forms (post-pour).
• Notify the Production Supervisor when deficiencies are found.
• Perform or schedule product repairs as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of precast plant techniques and procedures.
• Assist with precast production operations as needed.
