About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Doghouse Plant Manager and 2nd Shift Inventory Supervisor, this position is responsible for direct leadership and productivity of assigned doghouse employees, communicating with team members regarding performance, priorities, work load and deadlines. The Doghouse Lead utilizes knowledge, skills and abilities to ensure daily safety, quality, cost and production goals are met.

Requirements

  • Effective Leadership & Communication skills.
  • Ability to assess needs and prioritize.
  • Knowledge of MS Office products: Excel, Word, etc.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with assigned team members.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team.
  • Accuracy is required; one must understand the order form and be able to count.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Must be self-directed & self-motivated.
  • Ability to be on your feet 10+ hrs/day.
  • Hours must be flexible according to workloads.
  • Employee must be able to see and hear, read and write.
  • Requires adaptability, analyzing, assessing, calculating, decision making, dependability, good judgment, reading, memorizing, social skills, speaking, stress control, writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory background experience preferred.
  • Train the Trainer Program completion is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assign workflow, prioritize, review, and motivate team members.
  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained in job responsibility, safety, and company policy.
  • Lead, manage, and ensure all safety initiatives are adhered to with a ZERO Accident Mentality.
  • Follow daily, weekly & monthly standard works to continuously improve the process.
  • Conduct daily check-ins with the team and report performance to the Plant Manager/Inventory Supervisor.
  • Monitor daily attendance and punctuality; use Workday to approve PTO/time off and process bi-weekly payroll sign-off procedures.
  • Collaborate with Plant Manager/Inventory Supervisor to overcome team member concerns and performance issues.
  • Conduct 90-day reviews, quarterly performance, and yearly increase reviews with employees in conjunction with supervisor.
  • Review processes periodically to increase efficiency.
  • Understand and utilize production reports and work orders to organize and manage priorities.
  • Responsible for 6S, safety, and quality, ensuring team members receive effective & timely training.
  • Validate inventory control including cycle count and troubleshooting (adjustments/transfers).
  • Update Tier Boards, hour-by-hour performance boards, and participate in GEMBA walks (observe, engage & improve).
  • Maintain Lakeshirts/Doghouse acceptable standard of quality, meeting goals in garments per employee hour, on-time percentages, and error rate.
  • Works actively with others in the department and company to achieve positive results.
  • Other duties as assigned including special projects.
